DEPARTMENT INFRASTRUCTURES
Directorate of Sericulture Bodoland Territory Council provides modern infrastructure and technical support for sustainable silk production and rural livelihood development.
Seed Farms
The Department maintains seed farms across BTC for the production of quality silkworm seeds and healthy mulberry saplings to support farmers and strengthen sustainable sericulture development.
Silk Farms
Government Silk Farms function as demonstration, training and production centres where farmers learn improved rearing techniques and modern silk farming practices.
Grainage Centres
Grainage Centres produce disease-free silkworm eggs and distribute certified seed to farmers, ensuring quality cocoon production throughout BTC.
Cold Storage
Cold Storage facilities preserve silkworm eggs under controlled conditions to ensure year-round availability for farmers and uninterrupted silk production.
Technical Service Centres
Technical Service Centres provide field-level guidance, farmer training, pest management, mulberry cultivation assistance and technical support across BTC.
Cocoon Markets
Cocoon Markets provide a transparent platform where sericulture farmers can sell their cocoons directly, ensuring fair prices and better market access across BTC.
Silk Exchange
Silk Exchange Centres facilitate trading of raw silk, yarn and silk products while connecting farmers, reelers and weavers through an organized marketing system.
BTC Silk Federation
The BTC Silk Federation promotes silk production, value addition, cooperative development and marketing support for Muga, Eri and Mulberry silk throughout the state.
Training Institute
Training Institutes conduct regular programmes on silkworm rearing, mulberry cultivation, weaving, entrepreneurship and modern sericulture technologies for farmers, youth and departmental staff.
